Cog-zio's Tidbits: Darren Law
By Derek Meluzio
Darren Law took some time to answer a few questions regarding the recent test days for the Rolex 24 at Daytona.
How did the test go?
Derek, the test went great. We were fast in every session, the car was working very well and everyone on the team gets along great.
Was the team happy with what they got accomplished?
Yes, they were very happy. There are always things that could be better but we are learning a lot ever time we go out. The Brumos team is very focused and always working on ways to imporve the car. This year is going to be much tougher than last year and we are going to have to continuously work to keep one step ahead.
Did the Porsche factory drivers like the car? How quickly did they get adjusted?
Both Sasha and Lucas really liked the car. as expected they didn't take long to get up to speed. The thing that is really great here is that both Sasha and Lucas and David and I are all within a couple of tenths of each other, this means that drivers strategy as far as who is in the car is not a real factor, all of us will be quick all of the time. I am relly looking forward to this race, we have as good a shot as anyone, I mean we have the drivers, the team and the car to do it!
Were you shocked to see how fast the Riley and the Crawford DP's got up to speed?
Well, I wasn't shocked to see that they had the speed, we all knew that Ganassi would come into this with a good effort but yes, I was surprised to see them get there that quickly.
Who do you see as being your biggest competition in the race.
That one is always hard to predict because this race doesn't always go to the fastest but I would have to say that the teams who ran last year would be our biggest threat such as Bell or the Lista Doran simply because they have the time under their belt and know how to make the car last.
