Bring on the Doran/Toyota and Multimatic
The next round of the Rolex Sportscar series will see the entry of two additional cars to the DP field. Doran Racing will field a Toyota powered Doran JE4 to be piloted by Dider Theys and Fredy Leinhard Sr. An earlier attempt to have Wally Dallenbach behind the wheel was put on hold due to schedule conflicts. The team also reports that they will again enter the car at the Daytona Finale in November. Doran racing will test the car at the end of July in order to be ready to go for the Bully Hill Vineyard 250 in early August.

Multimatic Return
The much anticipated return of the Multimatic Ford Focus DP will come at the hands of Speedsource Race Engineering. The car will be driven by Speedsource regulars Paul Mears Jr., Selby Wellman, and Sylvain Tremblay. The car they will enter is chassis 001. The same car that won its class at the Rolex 24, 2003. It is also the same car that was being used by Multimatic to conduct open test sessions to potential buyers. Multimatic will allow Speedsource to campaign the car through the remainder of the season, or until the two car order by Speedsource is complete.

Brumos FABCAR Testing
With these two new teams now involved the already competitive DP class will get even better. Bell Motorsports has performed well lately and has really taken the battle to the early season favorites, Brumos Racing. Brumos Racing and FABCAR completed a recent test session that centered around suspension issues the team has experienced off and on since the California round.

Picchio of Many Faces
One last note, many people have asked the question, "What happened to the Maserati Picchio that was unveiled just prior to the Rolex 24, 2003?" That car, in fact, is the same chassis that is currently being campaigned by G&W Motorsports under their traditional Yellow and Black spotted livery. It was unveiled at the press conference in the silver Maseratit colors, then switched to the Red Bull USA colors for the race. Finally, after the Rolex 24, 2003, the car was painted Yellow for the remainder of the season. Since that round it has also donned numerous additional secondary sponsor colors and regained the traditional G&W spots.
