I have been a fan of motorsports for as long as I can remember. Some time around 1998 I decided that I should start taking photos of cars rather than just spending the weekend at the track watching them. After a while, taking the same-old "action" shots got boring. I decided that my mission as a photographer was to capture the human element of racing as much as the technological aspect of it.

I wanted to see the art that is inherent in a hand-built machine capable of traveling at fantastic speeds for extended times. I started seeing the art of the rivets, and in the geometry of suspensions. It became necessary for me also to get photos of the "artists" at work as well. The drivers, the crew, and even the tire crews. Racing for me turned into an appreciation of art as much as an entertainment spectacle.

For the past 5 years I've had these photos on my private server and only allowed access to racing teams, officials, and a few fans. Now, as I prepare for a bold change in my future, I have decided to "give" these photos to the world for all racing fans to enjoy as well. What you'll see is a little time capsule of each weekend trying to capture the art in race cars and the humanity of the people who dedicate their lives to them. My collection at some times is candid and it captures people at play, as well as drivers in deep conversations and reflective moments. It's focused on Grand American racing, as well as the evolution of the Daytona Prototypes at 2 locations: Daytona International Speedway, and Watkins Glen International as well.

As a second goodwill gesture to all, they are 100% FREE for duplication, printing, and use. All that I ask is that if they are ever used on a website or in a publication, please credit me with the photo. Please enjoy viewing these photos as much as I enjoyed taking them.
